International Management Services Ltd is made up of a strong inhouse team of experienced professionals with relevant academic and professional credentials. The multi-disciplinary team posses expertise in accounting, international taxation, finance, legal and compliance as well as international logistics. The team has been a major contributing factor in the success of the international day to day operations of many of our clients. The senior members of the IMS team are listed below.
GORDON MIFSUD – MANAGING DIRECTOR
A fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK which qualification he obtained in 1979. He is also a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
He is fluent in Maltese, English and Italian.
He initially practiced with a leading Maltese audit firm until 1982 following which he joined the international audit firm Coopers & Lybrand (today Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in Milan.
The Italian experience lasted nine years during which extensive experience was gained in auditing large US, UK and Italian firms including multinational companies. He was also assigned for a period of two years to the United Nations World Food Programme. This assignment involved the development of procedures for handling international emergencies and covered the famine crises in Ethiopia, Sudan and Chad as well as the Afghan refugee crises in Pakistan.
He has been advising international clients on tax planning for the past 20 years and holds directorship in companies within various groups including subsidiaries of quoted companies.
ADRIAN GIORDANO IMBROLL – DIRECTOR
He qualified as a CPA from the University of Malta in 2000 after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree. His thesis was entitled ”International Financial Services: Instrumental for Malta’ s economic growth’. Mr. Giordano Imbroll also holds a masters degree in Financial Services from the University of Malta. The Masters dissertation examined ‘Systems of international tax anti-avoidance legislation with specific reference to CFC and transfer pricing’.
He speaks Maltese, English and Italian.
Mr. Giordano Imbroll joined International Management Services. In February 1997. He has been extensively involved in setting up and managing accounting and administrative systems for international clients.
He was instrumental in the development and implementation of the IMS Back Office Online system which enables worldwide international groups to centralise their accounting and logistics functions in Malta. He also provides tax advice to international clients involved in complex commercial transactions.
He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Malta Institute of Accountants and of the Malta Institute of Taxation.
KATHLEEN ZARB ADAMI – PARTNER
Kathleen Zarb Adami obtained her doctorate in law from the University of Malta in 1999. Upon graduation she joined a leading Maltese law firm where she was eventually appointed partner.
She has been providing International Management Services with specialized legal service in the financial service sector since 2006 and joined IMS in 2009.
In 2013 she was appointed director of IMS Limited, a licensed Trustee and Fiduciary Company.
Her main areas of interest are commercial law, intellectual property law, maritime law, aviation law and financial services. She has accumulated extensive experience in all of the sectors being directly involved in the setting up and executing transactions involving multinational groups.
Dr Jackie Mallia
Jackie obtained a Doctor of Laws at the University of Malta and proceeded to obtain a master’s degree in technology law from Queen Mary, University of London. She specialises in the provision of legal support to clients within the fields of information technology and intellectual property.
She has extensive experience in advising both the private and the public sector, having assisted private clients in numerous corporate matters, as well as various governments and authorities within and outside the European Union, to formulate and draft legislative frameworks in her fields of expertise. Her current focus is on artificial intelligence (‘AI’) and other disruptive technologies and she is one of the experts appointed to the Malta.AI Task Force, heading the Legal and Ethics Working Group.
She has recently joined International Management Services Limited (IMS) to create IMS Innovate, which will provide support services to professionals, investors and entities within the sectors of innovative technology (including AI and blockchain), eSports and film.
