Malta’s stable economic outlook

On 10th June 2022, DBRS Ratings GmbH confirmed Malta’s rating to be ‘A’ (high), with a Stable trend on all ratings.

DBRS said that “the Stable trend reflects DBRS Morningstar’s view that risks to the ratings remain balanced. The Maltese economy has recovered faster than previously anticipated from the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic shock, despite a partial revival in foreign tourism in 2021”.

This follows recent announcements by ratings agencies Fitch Ratings which has affirmed Malta’s Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at ‘A+’ with a stable outlook, and that of Moody’s which confirmed Malta’s rating at A2 negative.
